I’m a producer, engineer and musician based in Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire. I’ve been in bands and doing this professionally for almost 15 years. Aside from being an engineer/producer I am also a musician myself. This has come in very handy with a lot of the work I do! I play the drums, bass, guitar and keyboards. I also have a growing collection of unusual instruments that I like to play with.
After graduating from the Academy Of Contemporary Music in Guildford, I spent a few years teaching drums, gigging and producing music from my home studio. In 2010 I set up The Hub Sound Studios in Cambridge with a schoolfriend. When I knew that studio was coming to a close in 2017 I decided to go it alone with a new venture. Lots of planning, designing and building later, Saltwell Studio opened for its first session in May 2017.
I’ve learnt a lot about production over the years, on the job but also from having worked with and observing some inspirational producers/engineers including Bernard Butler (Duffy), Boo Hewerdine (Eddi Reader), Nigel Stonier (Thea Gilmore) and Jon Kelly (Paul McCartney).
When I’m working on a record, whether with a band or solo artist I will be as involved as necessary to get the best out of the project. Sometimes this means working with them before even doing any recording on getting the songs in the best possible shape. Every project is of course different and if you’d like to find out more about how I could help with yours get in touch!
